Tipsuda Thavaramara

Tipsuda Thavaramara is chairman of Thai Fintech Association, a non-profit organization with a mission to improve Thai people’s access to financial services at lower cost, nurture Thai startups, and promote competition in the financial services industry. From 2014 to May 2019, she was deputy secretary-general in charge of policy, markets and intermediaries, and investment management at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Thailand. She joined the SEC in 1993 and has extensive experience in capital market development. Her accomplishments include laying the foundation for the digitalization of the capital market and promoting fintech development in Thailand, liberalizing securities businesses and creating competition in the exchange business, drafting the Derivatives Law and launching the Thailand Futures Exchange, and formulating the implementation plan for ASEAN capital market integration. She also served on the board of the Government Pension Fund from 2007-2011. Tipsuda received her MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and her BA in Mathematics from Harvard University.
